STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
This type of training is designed to allow an individual to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injury. Functional training will include exercises to strengthen the core muscles, along with the major muscle groups, in common movement patterns the individual performs on a daily basis. The program will be designed specifically for the individual’s needs, and it may include weight-bearing exercises, lifting patterns, pushing/pulling patterns, core strengthening, balance exercises, and increasing coordination. The Functional Training option is not to be confused with the Personal Training option, as it is recommended for post-rehab clients, geriatrics, and those looking to improve overall health and wellness.
This type of training is concerned with maximizing physical performance by increasing muscular strength, muscular endurance, aerobic capacity, and flexibility. Strength & Conditioning will include resistance training exercises to help build the individual’s muscular strength, including pushing, pulling, and pressing movement patterns of both the upper and lower body. This training will also include exercises specific for improving the individual’s aerobic capacity, speed, and basic agility. Strength & Conditioning will not only include exercises to improve the basic flexibility of the individual, but also dynamic stretching to prepare the individual for activity.
The Strength & Conditioning option is recommended for active clients, “weekend warrior” clients, clients involved in non-competitive sports (i.e. adult leagues), and bodybuilding clients.
This type of training is designed to improve the overall physical appearance of the individual. Personal Training will include resistance training exercises and aerobic exercise that will help to improve the individual’s body composition. The program will be designed specifically based on the individual’s training goals, and it may include resistance exercises targeting the specific areas of concern, along with aerobic exercise prescription to address weight concerns, and basic flexibility exercises. The Personal Training option is recommended for weight-loss clients, muscle-toning clients, and clients whose careers depend on their physical appearance.
This type of training is concerned with maximizing physical performance within a given competition by increasing power, muscular strength, muscular endurance, aerobic capacity, and flexibility through sport-specific training. Sport Performance will include Olympic lifting and sport-specific plyometric training to increase the individual’s power output and coordination, pushing/pulling/pressing/sport-specific movement patterns to increase upper and lower body strength, agility and speed drills, aerobic training to maximize the individual’s energy systems and increase their aerobic capacity, and specific dynamic stretching and warm-up patterns to prepare the individual for activity and competition. The Sport Performance option is recommended for athletic clients involved in competitive sports (club, high school, college, semi-pro, or professional).
Doubles Training, In-Home Training, and On-Location Training are also available.
